Peacock (Inachis io), a beautiful butterfly in the Swedish countryside.

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Swedish: Butterflies are arguably the most beautiful insect, in my opinion. It does not irritate, but just there and is fine. In the picture you see a Peacock ( Inachis io ) which is a common butterfly in Sweden. It overwinters as an adult and is therefore usually the first butterfly you see in the spring. This allowed the Peacock photographed by Gertrudsvik of Västevik .

English: Butterflies are without doubt the most beautiful insect, in my opinion. In the picture you see a goodwill European Peacock butterfly (Inachis io) Which is a common butterfly in Sweden. It Hibernate as an adult and is therefor Usually the first butterfly you see in the spring.

Roadkill on the way home. (Warning for sensitive)

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Hares are passed on! Sometimes I wonder if there is a surplus of these animals in the Swedish countryside. I often see 5-6 pieces in a few minutes when I'm out on my bravaer. Usually running in front of the car, in the candlelight. Hence the fate of the hare in the picture. It's not me who made this "road kill" without anyone else. I found it to death and could not resist taking this opportunity to photograph it, so it looked like I was a sinner.

Nikon D700, Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 and a Nikon SB800 flash in CLS (The flash of the camera) that put light on the hare. Avanade manual focus because it was pitch black outside and the hare seemed not at all. Had to guess where the focus would be, and after 4-5 photos put the focus fairly correct. Modern cameras have a feature that addresses this phenomenon with a focus in the pitch black environment very well, and it's called auto-assist illuminator. A small light that illuminates the subject while you focus. Now why did not I think of it at the moment?
